Bluebird Care is delighted to announce that they scooped the top prize at this year’s Winchester Business Excellence Awards, as the high quality home care provider was named ‘Small Business of the Year’.

Bluebird Care Winchester & Eastleigh, who only launched little over a year ago, have really made their mark in demonstrating their professional high quality home care ethics.

In the 15 short months since the home care provider has been in operation the company has won ‘Newcomer of the Year’ in their national Bluebird Care network and now ‘Small Business of the Year’ in the Winchester district.

The Small Business of the Year category is the most entered category of all the Winchester Business Excellence Awards, so owners Norman & Claire Murphy really were over the moon to win this coveted prize!

Their win was announced at a glittering celebration dinner and awards night at the Winchester Guildhall on Friday 14th June 2013, where the Bluebird Care office team and Care Assistants were present to collect their fabulous trophy.

The Winchester & Eastleigh operation of Bluebird Care was established by local Alresford couple Norman & Claire Murphy in March 2012. The company now employs 48 staff and is extremely proud to have helped over 200 customers remain independent in the comfort of their own homes surrounded by their family, friends and possessions.

Norman Murphy, Owner & Managing Director of Bluebird Care (Winchester & Eastleigh) said: "We absolutely love what we do and have such passion for only delivering the highest quality home care to our customers, so this award is such an honour to recognise the great service we are providing.

"We are so proud of our amazing care team and are delighted that we have brought our full team here to enjoy this fantastic night!"

Claire Murphy, Owner & Director said: "It is a dream come true for us to win this award and finally put home care in the press and spot light for the right reasons when so often it is only reported reflecting bad practice.

"Other home care providers out there coldly talk of ‘service users.' Here at Bluebird Care we have customers, customers whom are all very valued and carefully looked after.

"We never fail to remember that we are taking care of someone’s Mum, Dad, Grandmother, Granddad, Sister or Brother and will always continue to deliver the kind of care we would want our own relatives to receive.”

Bluebird Care’s aim was to become the best quality provider of home care &  live in care in the Winchester & Eastleigh districts, employing local people in order to help and support local people to remain independent in their own homes.

Bluebird Care’s services include helping its customers with a variety of tasks including personal care, domestic help, shopping trips, assistance with medication and help with mobility issues. In addition to traditional care, they provide companionship services and consider a game of dominos, a trip to the bingo or helping with the daily crossword as being just as important to improve people’s quality of life.

Bluebird Care’s Care Assistants also support people with end of life care in their own homes to enable them to be surrounded by their family and friends at this most emotional time.
