Bluebird Care Winchester & Eastleigh celebrated their 2nd birthday this month and at the same time have been given a glowing report from the Government regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Bluebird Care, who were named Winchester’s 2013 ‘Small Business of the Year’ at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards, were delighted to receive the big thumbs up from the industry regulator.

The inspection that took place at the home care provider’s offices in Winnall, Winchester in December 2013, involved speaking to a number of the company’s customers and care staff.

All the customers that were spoken to were very complimentary of their Care Assistants – one person said they were “marvellous” and another said “we haven’t had a bad carer.”

One person using the service said: “They meet every standard I expect of them” and a customer’s relative said: “They are very good. They do take good care of my husband. We couldn’t do without them.”

Claire Murphy, Owner & Director said: "We are delighted to have met all the standards the CQC have assessed us against and over the moon to receive such fabulous compliments from our customers - it really was the best Birthday present we could have asked for!

"Our aim now is to get the same results at our next anniversary and every year thereafter!”

Bluebird Care has now helped over 440 customers to live independently in their own homes in the Winchester, Eastleigh, Chandlers Ford and Hedge End local communities. The owners, Norman and Claire Murphy, have now expanded their award winning operation by opening a second office in Alton’s town centre. This extends the reach of their services from Winchester right along the A31 corridor to Alton, Alresford and all surrounding villages.

Norman Murphy, Owner & Managing Director said: "In our two short years of operation we have delivered over 82,000 care visits.

"We are truly delighted to help people live in the homes they love surrounded by their family and friends and are really proud of our whole team who work tirelessly throughout the year in all weather conditions to take the best care of our customers.

"We are also proud to have created 70 new jobs across the Winchester & Eastleigh and Alton & Alresford areas. Our award winning home care services are now being recognised by many privately funded customers as well as the NHS and Hampshire County Council, so we are looking for new passionate people to come on board to join our team and are looking to create a further 40 jobs by the end of the year.”
