That was until they enlisted our help two years ago. With regular visits a couple of times a week from Zulal Ramanan, our award-winning Care Assistant of the Year 2017, Fred and Laura now have all the support they need to continue living comfortably in their own home.

Fred used to live in Dubai making cabinets for the Sheikh's palaces; we've always lived a very independent life and we both found the idea of moving to a care home very troubling.
We couldn't bear to leave our house as we have so many happy memories here from our marriage and watching our daughter and grandchildren grow up.
Bluebird Care have been wonderful, Zulal is always so kind and helpful; she really makes us feel very safe and able to carry on as we always have done.
Homecare has also provided our family with peace of mind, as they know we're in safe hands and someone is coming in to check on us and keep us company, particularly if they are away on holiday or for work.

Fred and Laura are a lovely couple and it feels great to be able to help them to continue living together in their own home, which is what they really want to do.
From helping with chores around the house like cleaning and cooking to making a cup of tea and having a friendly chat, it's very rewarding to be able to help people to keep living the way they want to.

For people like Fred who live with dementia, it's really important to have a routine in place. When people can stay in their own homes with familiar surroundings like furniture and family photos, it makes a huge difference.
It also helps to see familiar faces, so we always try to ensure that regular Care Assistants visit our customers. It helps to build up a rapport and the relationship that develops is very beneficial to the way care is provided.
