We were invited to attend a Careers Day at St Mary's Chambers, hosted by Rossendale School.

We were pleased to be invited to attend and showcase ourselves at a Careers Day hosted by Rossendale school.

The school is able to offer residential support for up to 12 young people, and has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the past ten years. Their two homes can accommodate both boys and girls on weekly boarding placements, as well as respite care for existing pupils.

They are committed to helping each of their pupils prepare for adulthood, never losing focus on what they are capable of achieving. They work closely with their young people and their families to support them to reach their potential through academic progress and the development of social skills.

Located in Rossendale, Lancashire, Rossendale School accepts young people from across the North West and incorporates the main school site, a community-based sixth form and two associated residential homes, around four miles away from the main school site.

John

Thank you so much, for supporting Rossendale School’s Careers Fair.

As you know, our students all have SEND and attending events such as careers fairs can be an overwhelming experience for them, and often an experience they miss out on. That is why, we decided to host our own careers fair, to ensure our students are not disadvantaged due to their additional needs.

For our students, a careers fair is not only an opportunity for them to think about future pathways, it is also an opportunity to develop their communication and social skills. Meeting new people and holding conversations, is something many of our young people find difficult and being in this environment and managing it, helps to develop their self esteem and confidence, which enables them to transfer what they have experienced at the careers fair to other situations. Your contribution to this will have a positive impact upon our students.

The school, the students and their families are all so appreciative of your support and it genuinely means more than you may realise.

Once again, thank you so much for your continued support and we hope to see you again next year.

Thank you
