Happy Birthday Effie

We were asked to join Effie's friends and neighbours to celebrate her turning 90 years young.

Effie was born in the Blackley area of Manchester on 30 January 1933.  She was a dancer when she met Harry, an electrician.  They married in 1953 and had 5 children, 2 boys and three girls.  Effie was a stay at home mum and the children have memoires of Effie producing their clothes whereby the girls would have the same patterned outfits. 

Harry and Effie took holidays on the continent and enjoyed their sangria and sun.  The children were able to celebrate Effie’s milestone birthday on 28 January 23 when they all gathered for a family meal in Stocco in Oldham.  The children live in Reading, Leicester, Nottingham, Shaw and Hereford so it was wonderful they were able to get together to celebrate.

The children have children themselves meaning that Effie is grandmother to 8 and a great grandmother to her great grandson.

On 30 January Effie’s friends and neighbours came to the family home to celebrate her birthday.
