Bluebird Care Rochdale sponsored the Remembrance Weekend match when Rochdale AFC hosted Leyton Orient on 13 November 2021.

Bluebird Care Rochdale sponsored a fixture, and they were pleased to support this particular event as they already sponsor Rochdale Ladies and Rochdale AFC Military Veterans. During the fixture, they were joined by one of their Care Assistants, Claire, and her niece, Libby. Libby plays for Rochdale Wildcats, the younger ladies' representation of the club. Claire had mentioned that her niece was interested in playing football, so Bluebird Care Rochdale's Director, John Keogh, referred Claire to Rochdale AFC Community Trust.

On the day of the fixture, Ryan Bradley, the Community Director, provided Libby with a shirt and she had the opportunity to lead the Rochdale players out as the mascot for the day. As part of their sponsorship, Bluebird Care Rochdale had the responsibility of awarding the Man of the Match. With only five minutes remaining and Rochdale trailing 1-2, they nominated Alex Newby for the award. Shortly after, Alex scored the equaliser, resulting in Rochdale earning a well-deserved draw and a share of the points.

The formal presentation of the Man of the Match award was made by John and his two serving sons, Dale and Arran. The entire day was described as fabulous and it contributed to a truly memorable weekend for everyone involved.

This sponsorship and the positive experiences surrounding the event highlight Bluebird Care Rochdale's commitment to supporting local sports and community initiatives, as well as their dedication to their staff and their families.
