Bluebird Care Bradford North is raising awareness for International Day of Older Persons: 1st October 2015

The UK Older People Day coincides with The United Nations International Day of Older Persons and is an annual event taking place on the 1st of October.

The object of the event is to raise the awareness of the impact of an aging population with the aim to ensure that people can grow old with respect and dignity.

Older people must also be able to participate in society as citizens with full rights and equality.

The main aim in the UK is to celebrate the achievements and contributions that older people make to our economy and to our society.

Events will be taking across the country ranging from half day activities to month long festivals.

You can help the Older Peoples Day by signing up to their pledge on their website www.olderpeoplesday.co.uk/find-out-more or by supporting local events being organized locally.

To find out more about events visit the older people Facebook page, you can also follow on Twitter and the #FullofLife hashtag.

Remember in 2050 nearly 1 in 5 people in developing countries will be over 60.
