Dementia is generic term for the deterioration in memory and the ability to think. Dementia causes an individual to experience memory loss which can lead to change in their behaviour, mood and the lack of ability to be able to make sound decisions. There are many types, but the most common types of dementia are Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia and mixed dementia.

The impact of dementia is awful as it can disrupt an individual daily life as a result of that they may feel a range of emotions such as anger, disbelief or fear. Dementia also leaves a devastating effect on loved ones by causing them pain.
