Satta's Journey

In acknowledgement of National Career Development Month, we shine a spotlight on Satta, a Kensington & Chelsea carer who recently achieved a milestone promotion.

Armed with a BSc in Social Work and seven years of experience caring for her mother, Satta set a clear goal – to continue making a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals through social care.

In September 2022, she discovered Bluebird Care, drawn to its structured approach and the potential to make a lasting impact. Here she found unwavering support from the team saying, "The managers see the potential of every carer and actively nurture those who aspire to progress."

Registered Manager Nicola Bowditch says, "Satta is one of three colleagues to be promoted to Senior Carer from a field of over 15 internal applicants. Her passion for supporting new carers, building their confidence and helping them manage their role is admirable, and her compassion for her fellow Bluebirds comes through so strongly. Satta is an amazing communicator and uses that to find the best way to meet each of her customers’ needs."

As a Senior Carer, Satta's passion lies in empowering her fellow carers, encouraging them to provide the highest standard of care tailored to each customer's unique needs. Her advice to aspiring carers?

"Be committed, and show your commitment because it will be seen, appreciated, and rewarded."

Looking ahead, Satta envisions continued growth within Bluebird Care, expressing her ambition to further develop her skills with plans for her Health & Social Care NVQ Level 2 and specialist dementia training in the offing. The support she receives from Nicola in planning and executing her professional development fills her with confidence, reinforcing her belief that she is an integral part of a triple CQC Outstanding service.
