Meet Monica who celebrates her 4 year long service milestone this month.

Celebrating 4 years with Bluebird Care Kensington & Chelsea this month, Monica works in the south of the Royal borough. "She is a wonderful character," says Registered Manager Clarissa. "Monica is a fantastic communicator and has recording and reporting down to a fine art."

Clarissa continues, "Monica works with some of our most complex dementia customers to ensure they have a calm, smooth service. According to the NHS, one in six people over the age of 80 has a diagnosis of dementia, so it is essential that we have experienced Care Assistants who have the skill set to navigate this condition. I'm delighted to announce that Monica has achieved her official long service milestone this month!"

We caught up with Monica to discuss her top tips for success:

"Treat your customers in the way you'd want to see your own family members treated," she says.

 

"If your grandparent was receiving care, you'd want them to be treated with dignity and respect. You'd want them to be comfortable and happy. This is how we treat our customers, and we must acknowledge that some of our customers do not have family members living nearby. Your face could be the only one they see."

Her experience with Bluebird Care Kensington & Chelsea has been excellent. "I was doing supported care in a care home environment prior to starting with Bluebird, so domiciliary care was a new challenge for me. I had to learn how to use various pieces of equipment - that was the most daunting part of the learning process - but a great trainer makes all the difference."

"The office team make me feel seen and appreciated. They've definitely contributed to me staying for four years. Not every company makes you feel recognised and rewarded. I love that they always go the extra mile for the care team."
