Meet the team
Michael & Tania Hackett
Directors & Joint Owners
The Directors and owners of Bluebird Care Islington & Hackney are husband and wife Michael and Tania Hackett. Michael and Tania moved to Islington in 2006 having met at the University of Manchester, and three years later moved to Hackney. Members of both Michael and Tania’s family have received care in a range of settings, meaning they have seen first-hand the importance of quality driven, person-centred care, which they are in turn passionate about delivering to their customers.
Michael has spent the majority of his professional life working for the global recruitment business Michael Page where he specialised in placing people into a range of positions in the Health and Social Care sector. This experience of working in a “matching” industry means Michael understands the importance of selecting and placing the most appropriate Care Workers with the right customers.
Tania is a qualified solicitor with eight years post-qualification experience in employment law, most recently at the retailer Marks and Spencer. Tania’s background in legal and compliance has made it possible for Bluebird Care to create a stable operating platform from which the team’s care specialists can provide high-quality care services to a range of customers in the boroughs of Islington & Hackney.
Michael and Tania are open, honest and friendly, so please feel free to contact them directly with any thoughts or questions about Bluebird Care, and how we might be able to support you and your family.
Registered Care Manager
The Registered Care Manager for Bluebird Care Islington & Hackney is Prabsharan Jandu.
Prabsharan joined us in 2016, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the home care sector.
Over the years, Prabsharan has worked with customers requiring a wide range of support, across the full spectrum of service user groups, meaning there is very little that she hasn’t experienced.
As Registered Care Manager Prabsharan has ultimate responsibility for the wellbeing of our customers and staff, in addition to the day to day running of operations at the Islington & Hackney office.
My aim is to use my knowledge and experience to improve the quality of life of each and every person we support. We do this by supporting our customers to remain at home, surrounded by what is familiar to them, in a way that keeps them both safe and respected at all times. It is also my job to support our dedicated team of care staff to deliver the high-quality, professional homecare service that we are known for throughout the local area.
Customer Care Supervisor
Sunny first joined the Bluebird Care Islington & Hackney team in 2014 as a care assistant, and was promoted to the role of Supervisor in 2016.
Sunny's goal as our customer care supervisor is to:
Ensure every customer receives person-centred care; to a standard that I would expect for my own family.
Sunny meets with our new and existing customers, ensuring their care plans are reflective of all their needs, that any queries are resolved as quickly and effectively as possible, and that customers always receive the highest possible standards of care.
Care Assistant Supervisor
Tumi started her career with Bluebird Care Islington & Hackney as a care assistant, and joined the office team as Care Assistant Supervisor in 2017.
Tumi supports, monitors and supervises all of the care staff in the field, ensuring they have the advice and training they need to deliver an excellent standard of care to our customers.
My experience in the field means I am well-placed to support our excellent and dedicated team of care assistants.
Tessa joined Bluebird Care Islington & Hackney in February 2017 and is responsible for making sure our customers in Hackney have the appropriate care assistants to ensure their needs are met at all times. Tessa will match care assistants’ skill sets with the needs of our customers to deliver the highest quality service.
I heard of Bluebird Care’s very good reputation before I joined the team. I enjoy working with an excellent team of carers who really care about our customers. I enjoy communicating with our customers about any concerns they may have, and I do my best to support them in providing the best care possible.
Training and Recruitment Officer
I started working in the care industry nearly 20 years ago. I have family members who needed care, so it was a natural career path choice.
