SCPA Meeting February 2020

Published: 16/03/2020

On Tuesday 25th February, Supervisor Sam and Deputy Manager Jaqlyn were delighted to be guest speakers at the South Cheshire Pensioners Association meeting.

Sam and Jaqlyn gave a presentation about Bluebird Care Cheshire East and provided an overview of our services. This included providing information about the variety of care calls we can provide, from 30 minute calls through to full live-in support. Part of this presentation was the showcase of our new Health and Wellbeing Check service. Jaqlyn and Sam shared lots of useful information and gave members of the audience the opportunity to experience a Health and Wellbeing Check.

The vital signs that are recorded during a Health and Wellbeing check are:

  • Blood pressure & pulse
  • Temperature
  • Breathing & oxygen saturation
  • Alertness
  • General wellbeing status (which is assessed via a questionnaire)

All measurements are taken through battery powered and Bluetooth enabled devices.
The devices are linked to a computer system which generates an automatic report utilising the NHS approved NEWS2 score. Alongside this report system the service also:

  • Provides results which can instantly determine if any action needs to be taken
  • Enables Bluebird Care to quickly notify a family member or health professional if there are any Health concerns

Our Health and Wellbeing Check service can be provided as a standalone service, as part of a tailor made package of care, or as an addition to an existing package of care.

The essence of the Health and Wellbeing checks is to prevent deterioration in a customer and to promote a healthy lifestyle with practical and bespoke advice, assisting the customer to remain independent and within their own home for as long as possible.
