Bluebird Care Bournemouth has been awarded an overall ‘good’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), with an ‘outstanding’ rating for being a well-led service.

The CQC inspectors found that Bluebird Care Bournemouth ‘actively engaged with the local community. It had established effective partnerships with partner agencies to provide supportive services to vulnerable people in the local area. This included an information service where they worked in collaboration with local independent agencies to provide practical information to vulnerable people who may be lonely or need specific advice and guidance to maintain their health and wellbeing. Additionally, they had implemented a large variety of events, incentives and schemes to benefit a range of people.’

The CQC also praised Bluebird Care Bournemouth for their use of technology and management of medicines. The report said: ‘The provider had a strong focus on the use of technology and how its' use could improve people's experience of the care and support they received. The use of technology supported the provider to plan, deliver and monitor people's care. This led to people receiving safe, effective and responsive care and support. Medicines were managed safely. Care staff had instant access to information about people's medicines and care needs on their mobile phones.’

Melanie Cohen, Director of Bluebird Care Bournemouth, said:

“The feedback highlighted within the CQC’s report reflects the pride our team members take in the care we provide, and the dedication they show to the people that use our service. We are especially pleased about our ‘Outstanding’ rating for a well-led service.

“Our team is highly trained and works exceptionally hard and it is great to know that the CQC recognises this. We are very proud of every single team member. We will continue to strive every day to ensure everyone we look after receives the care and support they deserve and will not rest on our laurels as we strive to do even better each day.”
