That is exactly what our management team at Bluebird Care Bournemouth did today to gain a better insight in to the needs of our customers, and the daily work scheduleof our dedicated team of Care Assistants.

Jo Kelleher, registered manager and Karolina Piestrzeniewicz, deputy manager delivered care throughout the day, commenting on their activities here is what they said:

It's been a great opportunity today to meet again with some of our customers, and help to meet their care and support needs. Today gave me the opportunity to reflect on how we meet the changing needs of our customers, and to gain a better understanding of the role our Care Assistants play. Previously, customers have said that they feel honoured to have a visit from a member of the management team. These visits shouldn't be a 'meeting royalty' occasion, but the norm. This gives us the ability to look at a more holistic approach to every one of our customers. Jo

I find that the very best way to understand the individual needs of our customers, and the demands on our Care Assistants, is to actually get out into the field and deliver care. Karolina

Melanie Cohen, director of Bluebird Care Bournemouth said:

Our Managers believe that by walking the floor, they gain a better understanding of how their team of staff are meeting individual customer needs. They also love to hear first hand from customers, their experience of our service. This experience and feedback helps us to develop our service, whilst identifying and working towards ways to enhance and improve the care and support we deliver.
