Bluebird Care Hook, who provide home and live-in care across Hart, Basingstoke & Deane introduced a new recruitment scheme earlier in the year to attract more people into a career in care.

The award-winning organisation encourages its existing care staff to refer a friend. Those that do receive a refer-a-friend payment of £500, if the individual they’ve referred successfully completes their three-month probation period with the company.

Nikki Champion was the first to receive the award after referring her friend, Abbie Slingo – who has just completed her first three months as a care assistant.

Phil Miles, Managing Director of Bluebird Care, said:

“Employing committed and passionate care assistants has been a huge part of our success in recent years.

We will only ever be as good as the staff we employ and our staff are outstanding! They are always professional and have real empathy for the people they look after.

It’s because of this that we launched our £500 Refer-a-Friend scheme. Investing in excellent quality, hardworking staff is absolutely essential to everything that we do.”

With offices in Hook, Bluebird Care provides care and support to older people and adults with physical disabilities and learning difficulties across Hart, and Basingstoke & Deane.

Bluebird Care is continually looking at new and innovative ways to encourage people to think of a career in care, and are out in the community on a regular basis at village fetes, summer fairs and recruitment events.

Kim Teagle is Bluebird Care’s Recruitment Manager. She added: “This year we’ll continue to take our recruitment opportunities out into the community. As well as promoting our services at local events, people can also find out about what it’s like to work for us.

If you see us, feel free to join us for a coffee and a friendly chat about the employment opportunities we have for you.”
