Bluebird Care (Alton & Alresford) are delighted to announce that its become the first and only home care provider in Hampshire to be rated "Overall Outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Not only that, this rates Bluebird Care as one of the top four of 9,228 home care companies in the whole of the country.

Bluebird Care (Alton and Alresford) is part of the group of offices set up and run by husband and wife team Norman and Claire Murphy. The local Four Marks couple set up their first Bluebird Care office in Winchester in 2012, before opening in Alton in 2013 and the Test Valley last year. This "Overall Outstanding" rating really is the cherry on top of their eight award wins in four short years, showing they are turning the home care industry on its head.

The CQC is the independent regulator of Health and Social Care in England. The CQC inspects and regulates all care services, including GP practices, hospitals and dentists, to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety.

Bluebird Care (Alton & Alresford) was inspected across five key areas to assess the quality levels of their service, specifically focusing on if they are: Well-led, Caring, Responsive, Effective and Safe. CQC then scores each of these areas with the following grades: ‘Inadequate’, ‘Requires Improvement’, ‘Good’, ‘Outstanding’ right up to the premier award of ‘Overall Outstanding’. To achieve "Overall Outstanding" you must be awarded ‘Outstanding’ in a minimum of two areas, and Bluebird Care were delighted to score three ‘Outstandings’ and two ‘Goods’ leading to their service being officially graded as "Overall Outstanding."

The CQC commented during the inspection: “Bluebird Care had a track record of being an excellent role model for the provision of outstanding home care. The home care company valued their staff and saw them as an asset to deliver high quality care to people. All Bluebird staff were highly motivated and inspired to offer kind and compassionate care.”

Norman Murphy, Owner and Managing Director of Bluebird Care, said: “From the moment my wife Claire and I started Bluebird Care back in March 2012, our aim was to be the best home care provider in Hampshire. We are a family business and family is at the heart of everything we do. Today we stand immensely proud having our industry regulator CQC rating us 'Overall Outstanding’ - the highest accolade possible.

“To be the first in Hampshire to achieve this and to be recognised as one of the top four care companies in the whole of the country really is a dream come true! We are so proud of our fantastic, professional and caring team who always go the extra mile and are incredibly dedicated in our mission of only delivering the very best in high quality home care.

“We invest heavily in our staff and encourage further training and qualifications which goes a long way to this rating. We look forward to continuing to be the best home care provider in Hampshire for both our customers and staff.”

Natasha Early, Care Manager at Bluebird Care, said: “I am absolutely thrilled for the whole team following this rating. There is an incredible team spirit here at Bluebird Care and without that team ethic we wouldn’t be able to provide the high quality care and operations that have led to this ‘Overall Outstanding’ rating.

“Not only do we care for our customers, we care for our staff too. There is a high level of dedication and commitment from our professional office team to ensure our customer’s care needs are continuously met and respected. Having adhered to and exceeded these CQC regulations, we have now been rewarded with the best possible rating which we are all ecstatic about!”
