Bluebird Care Westminster and City of London Registered Manager Shortlisted for Prestigious Award

Published: 22/10/2021

Krisztina Korpas, Registered Manager at Bluebird Care Westminster and City of London, has been shortlisted at the 2021 London Regional Great British Awards.

Bluebird Care Westminster and City of London provide care services in their customers’ homes. Their visits cover a variety of highly individualised care services, from personal care to companionship, home help, to trips into the community, right up to 24-hour Live-in Care.

The Registered Manager of the Year Award recognises those who have demonstrated leadership and excellence within the care sector. The award takes into account the work undertaken by nominees during the COVID-19 global pandemic, at a time where strong leadership in social care was required by those working in the sector.

Krisztina led Bluebird Care Westminster’s response to the pandemic. Her clear, concise response vastly limited the potential risk to staff and home care customers, as both parties were shielded immediately. Kristina also co-ordinated personal protective equipment stock levels, manned the phone lines, and was available for round-the-clock staff and customer support during uncertain times.

Away from pandemic responses, Kriztina’s achievements over the last twelve months also include implementing an increased person-centred approach to care for customers, and working with the team to create unique, individualised and high-quality care plans.

Reflecting on her shortlisting, Krisztina Korpas, Registered Manager at Bluebird Care Westminster, and City of London said:

“It was such a pleasant surprise to receive an email to say that I've been shortlisted as a finalist. I still can't believe it!

“The last 20 months have been challenging, and it is nice to get some recognition for the work. I want to highlight that there has been a lot of teamwork supporting this nomination, and I feel very privileged working with such dedicated carers and the office team.”

Peter Slough, Managing Director of Bluebird Care Westminster and City of London, added:

"London was hit hard first and Krisztina led the team exceptionally in ever-changing situations. From February 2020, Krisztina quickly implemented an infection control regime above and beyond the guidance from Public Health England, and as a result, our customers and staff were far better protected.

“She has worked incredibly hard to ensure the team has been fully supported and satisfied in their roles.”
