Care Assistants at multiple Bluebird Care offices across the South West of England have received huge inflation-beating pay rises of over 20%.

Amidst a growing cost-of-living crisis that is impacting the lives of thousands across the UK, Care Assistants at Bluebird Care Exeter, East Devon, North & West Devon, and Exmouth have received pay rises of 20.25% in recognition of their skill and dedication and to offer more support during these testing times.

The home care provider, Bluebird Care, delivers high-quality care to their customers across the region. Supporting older people and other adults to live independent lives in the comfort of their own homes, the homecare provider plays a vital role in the community.

Throughout the pandemic, the Bluebird Care teams continued to work tirelessly to deliver their crucial services, ensuring that their customers could continue to receive the care and support they needed.

The Bluebird Care offices, all owned by William Flint, are already well-known for their substantial annual pay rises in the care sector. And, following increases of 11% last year, on this occasion they have gone above and beyond for their team once again, with fresh pay rises coming into force immediately.

Where other sectors with comparable pay rates, such as retail and hospitality, are seeing average pay rises of between 3-4%, Care Assistants at these Bluebird Care offices are set to see greater increases, rising from an average of £11.60p/h to up to £15p/h for experienced Care Assistants.

Those looking to start a career in care will also benefit from these pay rises, with competitive wages of £13-14p/h available alongside great pensions, benefits, and career development opportunities within a purpose-driven sector.

With fuel costs increasing rapidly, the Bluebird Care offices across the South West have also increased their mileage pay for team members travelling to and from customers’ homes by 20%.

“More than ever, I believe people are seeking meaning and value from their time spent at work. At Bluebird Care our teams make a daily difference to the lives of people in our community. We are really proud to be at the forefront of showing that social care can be both an emotionally and financially fulfilling career choice. I truly believe in rewarding and recognising the incredible effort of our teams. They are the reason why we have such a strong reputation in so many communities in the South West, recognised for the fantastic care and support we deliver to people.”
