NEWS RELEASE: February 2023

Peterborough homecare provider Bluebird Care appoints new Head of Care and Operations

Local home and live-in care provider, Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle, has appointed a new Head of Care & Operations.

Julie Mair has been appointed to the post. She previously served as Care Director of the Evergreen Care Trust – a charity that provides bespoke care and support, advocacy services, health and wellbeing advice and organises social activities for older and vulnerable people around Peterborough and Oundle.

She previously worked for Bluebird Care as Registered Care Manager from 2011 to 2017, helping the business to grow and develop in its early years.

“Bluebird Care has always set the benchmark for care and care standards, and I was privileged in helping mould these when I was in my first role with them.

Bluebird Care has such a bright future ahead of it,” said Julie, “which is why I jumped at the chance to return to take up this new role with the organisation.”

Having been around the care and home-help industry for a long time, Bluebird Care’s values really stood out for me. The way they treat their staff as care professionals, their dedication to team work, and how they treat care as a vocation and a career – it’s all fantastic!

Their passion for personalised homecare for older and vulnerable people around Peterborough and Oundle is second-to-none!

Julie has nearly 20 years of experience in Health and Social Care provision both as a practitioner and also with several years as a Registered Care Manager.

Directors of Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle, Leisa MacKenzie and Tim Carey, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Julie back to the team! She comes with years of experience and is the right person to help us take Bluebird Care forward.

We pride ourselves on providing excellent quality services, and to do this we need the very best staff!

Finding committed and passionate staff has been a challenge but the key factor in our success over recent years. We will only ever be as good as the staff we employ, and we believe our staff are excellent! Julie joins a team who are always professional and have real empathy for the people they look after.”

Demand for the service is currently at its highest, and so Bluebird Care are calling for more people to join the team. Anyone who’d like to find out more about a career in care can call 01733 459907.

Bluebird Care is a national provider of home and live in care, specialising in working with customers who live with dementia, physical disabilities and many other acute and chronic conditions. Bluebird Care work alongside their customers’ families, social services and the NHS to ensure each person receives the care they need.

“The vulnerable members of our community need more support than ever before. The Coronavirus pandemic has meant that there is not only a decrease in physical health but also mental health, and an increase in the number of people living with loneliness and isolation. With Julie joining our team we can make sure, more than ever before, that we can offer companionship support and a friendly face for our customers who otherwise would spend a lot of time on their own,” added Leisa and Tim.

Bluebird Care offers a unique service of tailored care visits which range from anything from 30 minutes to full live-in support. As well as personal care they also help with meal preparation, welfare checks, night care, shopping, social trips, visits to the hospital and provide extra support for post-discharge customers.
