Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle Named Award Winners

Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle had a night to remember after they were named as winners at this year’s Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards on the 19th November.

With over 250 people attending the ceremony at the Holiday Inn West, Peterborough, the awards were a big occasion that praised business excellence across the region.

And for home care provider Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle/there was added cause for celebration, as they were named triumphant for the ‘Best Business & Community Response to the Crisis’ award.

Honouring a business that has gone the extra mile throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and one that has displayed commitment, passion, and excellence under pressure, Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle has embodied all.

Driven by a natural desire to help others, over the course of the past 12 months the team have supported one another at every moment. As a result of this, they have continued to provide exceptional care and support to their customers, despite the ever-changing circumstances.

The judges highlighted that without the team taking on extra responsibilities and the added pressure that came with the pandemic, the lives of their customers would have been much more difficult. For many they could no longer rely on friends or family to do many of the basic daily roles required due to social distancing measures. Yet, the team at the home care provider stepped up without hesitation and took on these different, but vital roles.

As well as this, the panel highlighted their response time to the outbreak. At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle applied a wide range of innovative strategies and protective measures to minimise infection amongst the team. In addition to the effective distribution of PPE equipment the team also utilised digital tools. This included using WhatsApp to maintain frequent communication between the team, and PASS, a digital system that minimised contact time between customers and Care Assistants through the streamlining of information.

Reflecting on their award win, Leisa MacKenzie, Business Owner & Director said:

“We’re delighted to be named triumphant for this award. Especially in our line of work, it was vital we responded to the pandemic quickly and successfully. We have a fantastic team who have worked tremendously hard during this period and it’s great to see their efforts be recognised. We pride ourselves on the delivery of exceptional care and support in a safe manner throughout the region.”
