Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland Nominated for Prestigious Business Awards

Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland have reached the SME Ely Business Awards Finals, having earned nominations in two separate categories for their efforts in 2021.

The home care provider has been shortlisted for both the ‘Business of the Year with more than 50 employees’ and ‘Employer of the Year’ categories.

Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland are being recognised for their achievements and growth, whilst operating within the difficult challenges associated with the COVID-19 global pandemic. The home care provider has cared for customers in the community of Newmarket & Fenland for 8 years, and in the last 18 months have increased their business with the acquisition of Bluebird Care Cambridge.

Growth, success, and quality care has followed. Turnover within the business has increased by 15 per cent, whilst customer and staff numbers have notably expanded to meet the demands of the pandemic. Live-In Care services increased by 30% throughout the year, in part due to the successful ‘fast track’ customer assessment scheme, aimed to take on more customers in need.

The home care provider is also being recognised for introducing the innovative ‘Stay Safe at Home’ campaign, to allow customers to remain in their own homes for as long as possible, without having to swap familiar surroundings, loved ones and pets for a care home setting.

A team of 77 staff members currently operate at Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland, including care assistants, care mentors, team supervisors, customer care managers, training and development coordinators, and directors.

Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland are also active within the community. They have designated a Care Hub for employees and customers capable of hosting social events, open days, training and meetings to tackle loneliness and isolation in society.
