Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland is supporting Carers Week 2017, an annual campaign raising awareness of caring from 12–18 June.

Carers Week highlights the challenges carers may face as well as the contributions they make to their community. The campaign is supported by individuals and organisations across the UK by promoting the importance of caring.

3 in 4 carers feel their caring role is not understood or even valued by their community, at Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland we hope to raise awareness of the support available to unpaid carers across Newmarket, Ely, Mildenhall, Fenland, Forest Heath, Brandon, Lakenheath and Burwell.

This year’s campaign hopes to build Carer Friendly Communities, supporting carers to look after their loved ones as well as recognising their own needs as an individual. Eight major charities have joined forces this year to encourage communities to register their events and show support in the lead up to Carers Week (12-18 June).

Carolyn Dailey, director of Bluebird Care Newmarket & Fenland, said:

Carers Week highlights the challenges carers can face and the support they might need, we are supporting these individuals and are happy to do what we can to help raise awareness of the unpaid carers in our community. We hope that by supporting this campaign it will provide help to those caring in our local area, and make them aware of the support that is available to them.
Visit the Carers Week website to find out more about the campaign and how you can get involved.
