The Ones You Love Matter. More than anything!

Hello, my name is Saffron. I am one of the directors of Bluebird Care Canterbury & Thanet. The picture you are looking at, is of my younger brother, Christopher (AKA Chis or Christo) who lost his battle with cancer in June 2018. He was 40!Today, would have been his 41st birthday. And, while we are devastated by the loss, we would really like to thank, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Margaret Centre, Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone, London, for the great work that they did with Chris, and the support that they gave to us, his family.

Poppy Appeal

On the 7th of November we posted this beautiful Remberance display of knitted Poppies in Ramsgate!!                  As this year is the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1, we wanted to mark the occasion by making it special and making a donation to the Poppy Appeal. Therefore, we asked our staff to send us pictures of any anything they saw to commemorate  Remembrance Day while out and about, or pictures of themselves or others wearing Poppies or medals, to post on our Facebook page. In return we offered to donate 50p per contribution to the Poppy Appeal.    We are very pleased to say that these contributions amount to £25.00, and then one of our lovely customers contacted us to say he would like to double our contribution bringing the total amount to£50.00!!Thank you, for all of these moving pictures! Please read on to see some of the contributions received...

A Story of Success

8 years ago today we were lucky enough to employ Frances Atherden as a part time Care Assistant and we have never looked back.  During her time with us, she has gone from strength to strength and been promoted through several roles culminating in becoming our Registered Care Manager. Frances is a kind and caring individual who is passionate about the work she does, in whatever role she is in.  She is certainly an assest and we hope that she will be with us for many years to come. To read her story in her own words, select the read more option.
