Burnham-based Bluebird Care was recently shortlisted as a regional finalist for the coveted Franchisee of the Year Award.

The organisation beat 35 other offices in its region of the Bluebird Care Group to come runner-up in the organisation’s annual awards on October 8.

The nomination was received in recognition of the team’s dedication towards its customers, as well as the consistent high level of service demonstrated by staff.  A scoring system was used to identify the operations that excelled in business development, quality audits, finance and marketing.

Director Ian Inglis said: “All Bluebird Care offices across the country have shown such strong capabilities and dedication to their staff and customers, so it was an honour to be nominated for this award. It’s been an amazing 12 months for us, with the development of a number of exciting new initiatives, which will benefit both our customers and the local community. We couldn’t do it without our amazing team, who work tirelessly to truly make a difference to our customers’ lives.”

Bluebird Care chief operating officer Duncan Berry said: “Bluebird Care has been delivering high quality care to thousands of customers at home for over a decade, and we are privileged to have hundreds of franchises that genuinely represent the company’s values, ethos and dedication. It was a very difficult selection process as we had such a high number of strong offices to consider. Therefore, being nominated is a wonderful achievement, and all our regional finalists demonstrated expertise in care that delivers an exemplary experience.”

The Summers Road care provider is currently the biggest office in the Bluebird Care network of 200 offices across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with around 130 staff caring for almost 200 people across its region. Earlier this year it was shortlisted in the Bucks Business Awards, came runner up in the Buckinghamshire County Council Dignity in Care Awards and its registered manager Nicky Beadle won Bluebird Care’s Regional Care Manager of the Year.

It also became a ‘Dementia Friendly’ organisation and as part of the initiative to support people with dementia and their carers, it is running an information stand on October 25 at Burnham Park Hall, while staff receive the latest training on board the Virtual Dementia Bus.
