Lily Petric named Bluebird Care’s top carer

Lily Petric has been named Carer of the Year for Burnham-based Bluebird Care.Lily joined the organisation in February 2016, providing care in people’s own homes across Slough, South Bucks and South Wycombe. She won the award after a secret ballot among her colleagues due to her exceptional dedication, sense of responsibility as well as her willingness to help willing to help out when schedules are under pressure.Lily highlighted that “I was very surprised and delighted to have won the award because Bluebird Care has so many amazing carers. When I see my clients happy and smiling that is all the reward I need. I care for my customers as if they are my Mum – that’s the only way I can do the job and it is incredibly rewarding. “

Bluebird Care director Anne Inglis said: “Competition this year was very strong so winning the award demonstrates Lily’s outstanding commitment and ability to go the extra mile for vulnerable people in our community. We are delighted to present the award to Lily Petric – she has been fantastic since joining us, and she is always flexible and willing to help out when schedules are under pressure.

“The qualities of a great carer include a naturally caring nature and treating your customers as if they were your own family. It’s so much more than just a career.”

Lily moved to the UK in February 2016 to work for Bluebird Care. Her previous jobs include a sales manager role, key account manager and a commercial director. 

She said . “Before I started with Bluebird Care, I wasn’t sure if I could do the job to the high standards they require, but I absolutely love it – and the people I care for are lovely so it makes it all worthwhile.”
