There's nothing quite like the feeling when you bring an unexpected smile to someone's face.

Bluebird Care Bournemouth & Poole launched their 'Random Act of Kindness' initiative this month. They gave every employee 2 coffee gift cards, and their guidance was to use these 'Random Acts of Kindness' wherever and whenever they liked, to bring a smile to the face of a stranger, and asked them to share their stories with the team. 

Jelena has been a member of the Bluebird Care team for over 10 years, and was delighted to share her story with the team:

"This gentleman was waiting in his car, outside the supermarket. I introduced myself and asked him if he drank coffee…he got out of his car and started chatting. He told me that he used to be in the Army, hence his ever so smart appearance - he said he always looked smart! 😁 He then shook my hand and said, nice to meet you. I wished him a good day, too."

"Studies have shown that giving is beneficial for our mental health. It can help to combat stress, depression and anxiety and also helps improve our self-confidence and provide us with a sense of purpose. As well as extending a gift to members of our community, this initiative also gifted our team members the positive experiences associated with the act of giving. It has been a delight hearing the heart-warming stories from our team."
