Mr F's Journey to Live-In Care

Meet Mr F and his live-in Care Assistant Pavlo. We caught up with Mr F to discuss his thoughts on moving from home care to live-in care

Your journey in care can change in the blink of an eye.

Dipping a cautious toe into the Bluebird Care waters, Mr F began with just two visits each week for domestic help and welfare checks. Discovering he thoroughly enjoyed and valued the visits from his carers, he amended his care package to ensure one visit each day.

Having settled into a comfortable routine with his daily visit, his world was turned upside down following a fall at home and a broken wrist. Mr F was admitted to hospital and then discharged into a care home to recover. Desperately missing his home comforts and Bluebird carers, paired with lived experience of a seamless service that can bend and flex to his requirements, he was adamant to return home. “I did not enjoy the care home at all. I missed my own home, where I’d lived since marrying my wife so many years ago, and wanted to return,” said Mr F.

Mr F alerted his Customer Care Manager who sprang into action, beginning the matching process where Mr F’s interests, personality, and needs were carefully paired with his ideal live-in Care Assistant. His daughter was surprised at how quickly and easily his live-in carer Pavlo was installed, and how seamless it was to welcome him into Mr F’s home and life. Pavlo takes a single two hour break each day at a pre-agreed time so Mr F’s safety, security and support are safeguarded. His sole focus is Mr F, and this means the highest level of confidence and assurance for Mr F’s family whilst delivering a sterling standard of outcome-focussed, personalised care.

With Pavlo available to deliver bespoke care for Mr F 22 hours a day, the impact was immediate. Mr F notes, “As a people person, I thoroughly enjoy the company and the relationship I have with my live-in carer. I’d describe him as cheerful, calm, and thoughtful – a perfect mix! I know I need support to remain at home and I am extremely grateful for everything the Bluebird Care team have done to make this dream a reality.”
