Bluebird Care Bath are currently collecting votes for an Annual Carers Awards to celebrate their team and the wonderful work they have done over the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the third year running, carers from across the home care provider’s two offices in Bristol and Bath have the chance of winning the awards: Newcomer of the Year, Over and Above, Most Kind & Caring, Overall Outstanding and the most ‘Happy, Cheery and Smiley’.

The Newcomer of the Year Award is available for all new employees within the last twelve months and will go to the individuals who have shown most potential and promise in their career to date. The Overall Outstanding Award is the most prestigious and is awarded to the individuals who strive to provide the highest quality of care.

Three winners, one each drawn from Bluebird Care Bath, Bristol and the Live-in Department, will be awarded for each category. 105 Care Assistants in total are currently up for nomination, with voting open until 1st October for colleagues and customers.

Under normal circumstances, a Summer Fun Day would be hosted by the franchise to announce the winners and celebrate the awards. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event was cancelled last year. Money was instead invested into mid-year presents for the team, as an expression of gratitude for their hard work.

This year, a video will announce the winners due to ongoing social distancing advice. Each winner receives a trophy with their name and the category engraved on them, whilst the winner of the Outstanding Award is engraved onto a larger trophy kept within the office.

Tim Rowland-Jones, Director of Bluebird Care Bath, said:

‘’It has been a really tough 12 months for a lot of our Care Assistants and there have been many fantastic achievements that we must now celebrate."

“Our care staff have worked so hard and shown so much dedication to their customers that they look after with such compassion and empathy. Well done to you all - we are so proud of you!"
