“It’s the happiness that care brings, that’s what I love most,” she muses when asked about why she chose a career in care. “Connecting with our customers and team members to create a schedule that sparks joy... it’s a wonderful feeling.” Team activities are another highlight: “Running Pretty Muddy with the Bluebirds was incredible! The Bluebird work family is so supportive.”

In her spare time, Becky can be found surrounded by her rescued Japanese Akitas or travelling the globe. Her most recent trip took her to watch the seasons turn in the Smoky Mountains and listen to music in Nashville.

Chelsea Grinnall

Assistant Care Coordinator

With five years in care, Chelsea has progressed from Care Assistant to Care Coordinator, supporting customers and carers. She joined Bluebird with a view to expanding her knowledge and career in care under Registered Manager Claire Nolan’s supervision. “In my previous role, there was no room for progression but since joining Bluebird I can see there is a career pathway here for me. Everyone is amazing to work with and there is such fun in the office. Rostering is difficult work, but we find happiness in every phone call!”

Her desire to work in home care was kindled when her grandfather passed away in a care home. “Seeing how he was treated made me certain that I wanted to work to help stay safe and happy at home. Home care and live-in care are far more person-centred. The caring, professional relationships built between the team and our customers are inspiring.”

Chelsea Bristol's Hartcliffe area, saying, “The loveliest people live in Hartcliffe. It has a special place in my heart.”

Freya Rose

Assistant Care Manager

With almost a decade in professional care, Assistant Care Manager Freya. She boasts NVQs in Childcare and spent years looking after young children both in the UK and on the continent. She says, “When I relocated to Bath, I joined a home care company – caring is what I truly love. Sadly, there was no room for progression, and this is when I came to Bluebird Care. I love that here, I’m a person, not a number!”

Reminiscing about her favourite moments in the workplace, she notes, “I adore when my customers relive their memories… as if for the first time. When you hear the story of a customer’s wedding day and look at their photos, the storytelling brings black and white into vibrant colour and suddenly you’re transported! My customers’ stories remind me to cherish every day and photograph special moments. I will look back on my photos with great fondness and relive those moments someday… when I do, I hope I bring joy to a young carer in the way my customers bring great joy to me!”

In her spare time, Freya enjoys strolling the streets of central Bath and taking in its beauty noting, “It’s so visually pleasing. It’s impossible to tire of the town’s iconic architecture.”
