Bobby Scheme supports Bluebird Care with crime prevention

Published: 26/05/2023

We'd like to thank the Blue Lamp Trust's Bobby Scheme for presenting to our care team on how their crime prevention services can help keep our customers safe at home.

The Blue Lamp Trust's mission is to improve community safety in Hampshire, and the Bobby Scheme is a free service offering support to help protect elderly and vulnerable people.

For over 20 years, The Bobby scheme has been promoting crime prevention and fire safety initiatives. Their trained fitters - who are all vetted by Hampshire police, uniformed and carry ID cards - have been visiting homes to carry out full home crime prevention surveys, provide reassurance and offer specific advice to improve safety. Where needed, they also fit locks, spyholes, door chains, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms. The service is free of charge, financed by the Blue Lamp Trust's fundraising efforts.

The Blue Lamp Trust also runs the Cyber Bobby scheme, which gives advice and guidance about basic IT security and how to avoid being affected by a cybercrime.

As an outstanding rated home care provider, Bluebird Care will promote these incredible services to our customers to help keep them safe at home.

Pete, a Bobby Fitter for the Blue Lamp Trust, said: “I've been working for the trust for over four years and it's a real pleasure to offer support to elderly and vulnerable people in their own homes. It's amazing that Bluebird Care are promoting our services to their team, as it can leave people feeling much more safe and secure, particularly following an incident.”
