We understand that many people would prefer their life to end at home, in familiar surroundings, with the people they love present. This can, however, be a stressful and confusing time for everyone involved: emotions are high and day to day living becomes a challenge.
Bluebird Care Wandsworth have been working with NHS Continuing Care and Royal Trinity Hospice delivering End of Life care at home for many years
We wanted to thank you so much for everything you did for our mother. You are an absolutely natural carer - warm and kind and sensible with an essential good sense of humour! Our Mum trusted you immediately which was amazing. Thank you especially for staying with her the last night of her life, and letting her tell you stories about Japan.
End of Life care we are proud of
Our care is everything you need it to be. Warm, compassionate (but never maudlin), expert and efficient... and all done with a smile. We are real experts in end of life care and it's something we feel privileged to do.
We work closely with community palliative care teams, specialists from the multidisciplinary teams, local hospices and the family and friends of the person to ensure that the service we deliver is specifically tailored to ensure the comfort and well-being of our customer. Our carers can provide nursing-led support including PEG feeding, stoma and catheterisation where required.
I would like to thank Bluebird for the huge effort it has put in to make A’s life as comfortable as possible. It was fitting that your carer J was with us at the end, emotionally charged as it was. A held her in great esteem.
Our care is never intrusive. We’re always aware of the need for calm; the dignity of the customer and their right to have their wishes acted upon. Carrying out those wishes is paramount to us.
Where the customer requires and their condition permits, we’re more than happy to support activities that relieve their situation and make the days more enjoyable.
A big thank you, especially the carers, for looking after dad and making the last few months of his life so comfortable. Your support to him, and us, was wonderful.

I just wanted to say a very heartfelt thank you for looking after my mother, so carefully in her last days at home. You were an example to us all - ever cheerful, efficient, logical and practical! You never made it seem like any job was too hard. I know you made friends with her very quickly and she was very happy to be looked after by you. In particular, thank you for the final 'working night' - I know she will have appreciated having someone to talk to when she woke up, and seeing your kind and gentle face will have been a great comfort to her. You made it so much easier for my sister and I to come and go, knowing our mother was in good hands.
