Frequently asked questions

What safeguards do I have?

Bluebird Care is registered with the local registration body in each country in which we operate. These bodies set the minimum standards by which we operate, however in every case we seek to exceed these minimum standards by a significant margin. We are also full members of the United Kingdom Home Care Association(UKHCA). Both of these bodies have standards which set out how we should operate. We also carry Public Liability insurance (£10million).

What should you do if you feel your loved one needs support to stay safe and well at home?

Taking the first step can be difficult and it’s important to approach the subject sensitively and with empathy.

Try to focus on the positives of receiving home care, for example, they can receive support on their terms and can remain in the comfort of their home. We offer a no-obligation visit to discuss how our services can enhance people’s lives rather than take over them.

What support can you provide?

We can visit as often as needed – whether it’s a 1 hour visit once a week, running errands or round the clock live-in care.

We can support with medication, do the weekly shop, help them with household chores and provide personal care. We also offer specialist support for those living with a range of conditions including dementia.

What tasks will my care assistant carry out?

We agree a ‘Care Plan’ which details exactly what you have instructed us to do. This then becomes the work list for each day. Click here for details of the care services we can provide. As part of our ongoing and unique relationship with pharmacies, we are also able to assist or administer your medication.

Care plans frequently evolve and we check regularly to ensure that the care we are providing is appropriate.

Why should I consider home care for my loved one?

We know ‘there’s no place like home,’ which is why we’re dedicated to helping people stay in theirs for as long as possible.

Moving to a care home in later life can sometimes feel like the only option but this can be traumatic and disorientating. With our home care service you can relax knowing your loved one is being looked after in familiar and safe surroundings by professional, qualified carers.

Will I have the same care assistant each day?

This depends on how many care visits you have each week. We very rarely have just one care assistant assigned to a particular customer. This allows for periods of time where your care assistant may be away on holiday, however we do try to keep the number of your care assistants to an absolute minimum.
