A memorable sponsored walk to support our customers' activities. Thank you to all our wonderful supporters who helped us raise over £500!

On Saturday 21st May, the team at Bluebird Care Swindon, led by Registered Manager, Kelly Torr, ascended Mount Snowdon on a 9-mile hike along The Llanberis Route. In support of the walk, the team managed to fundraise over £500 towards day trip expenses for the valued customers at Bluebird Care Swindon.

The route chosen should take approximately 6 hours to walk and our team managed it 4 hours and 17 minutes. At the summit of Snowdon, they enjoyed views of Snowdonia, Anglesey, the Llyn Peninsula and even Ireland; standing tall at 1,085m high.

The main challenge of the day proved to be the weather. Kelly lost her hat to a gust of wind halfway up the climb but Welshman Sean made the most of the blustery altitude to wave the Welsh flag at the peak with pride.

“As our first team activity together since becoming Registered Manager of Bluebird Care Swindon, I feel tremendously proud of the whole team. From the care professionals cheering us on back home in Swindon to the team that walked up the mountain. The climb was incredibly challenging, both physically and mentally. We came together as a family unit and pushed forward until we reached the end.” – Kelly Torr, Registered Manager

“A fantastic experience to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated as it means so much. Knowing we were raising money for such an amazing reason, to take our customers on a memorable day out, kept pushing me to carry on and climb to the top and achieve our goal.” – Sean Thurston-Burridge, Care Professional

“The goal was the summit, the achievement was the journey up there! Pushing through every emotion to just keep going.” – Hailey Burgess, Fellow Hiker
