The Care Quality Commission (CQC) awards Bluebird Care Stevenage & North Herts an overall ‘Good’ rating and ‘Good’ on each of the five areas inspected

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspected the services of Bluebird Care Stevenage & North Herts in August and has recently announced their findings of ‘Good’ in all areas.

The CQC inspection looks at customers who receive personal care, eg. Tasks relating to personal hygiene and eating from the care experts at Bluebird Care Stevenage & North Herts.

The service is inspected on five levels: safety, effectiveness, caring, responsive and well-led.

The inspection was completed by an inspector and an Expert by Experience, who is someone with personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of care service.

Bluebird Care Stevenage & North Herts was awarded a ‘Good’ rating on all five areas and subsequently given an overall ‘Good’ rating by the CQC.

The findings in the report showed the service to be truly worthy of its rating with feedback from professionals and customers speaking very highly of the service they receive.

The report found: “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

“The registered manager had a good understanding of people they supported and had a passion for wanting to deliver person-centred care. There are quality assurance systems in place and these systems were reliable and effective in identifying what improvements were needed.

“People and staff were involved in shaping the service being provided and felt listened to.”

The inspection team spent time with customers and received a lot of good feedback on the care they receive.

One person said: "Yes I feel safe with them here, I think they go above and beyond in what they do."

Another customer told the inspection team: “They have never missed a call and they always stay the full time."

A relative also revealed: "I've met with a lot of the staff, and they all seem very confident and caring. Always listen to us and take on board what they say."

Director of Bluebird Care Stevenage &. North Herts, Robert Treschi said of the rating: “I’m so happy that we received another ‘Good’ rating from CQC.

"It’s testament to the great work the carers do. We’ve got a fantastic team and some of the feedback from the customers and the professionals in the CQC report was truly exceptional."

We’re close to an outstanding and we’re going to strive to be better and better with time.
