Meet the team
Bluebird Care - South Somerset is led by Ross Perkins. Ross started delivering homecare in South Somerset to help support customers in the region and to enable people to receive homecare and support while remaining in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.
Delivering the highest quality of homecare and support is the whole team's absolute goal and we would be delighted to hear from anyone who is seeking homecare for themselves or for a loved one, or would simply like to talk to someone about the services we provide.
Prior to joining the Bluebird Care family, Ross was UK Director for a global manufacturing agency, responsible for the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. Further back, Ross served as a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Navy, sailing the seven seas and enjoying shore postings in luxurious spots around the world such as Iraq, Sierra Leone and the Falkland Islands.
In his spare time, Ross can be found watching rugby or trying to play the ukulele.
Janet has worked in the health and Social care sector for 35 years in varying roles, 13 of those have been as a Registered Care Manager. Janet is also a qualified Health and Social Care Assessor.
She joined Bluebird Care in July 2014 as Registered Manager and is deservedly proud of the team she has helped to develop over that time. Janet is very passionate about providing a safe, caring, quality service and being part of the Bluebird Care team allows her to do this.
Janet has a grown up family and 3 Grandchildren that fully occupy all her spare time!
Registered Care Manager
Jemma joined Bluebird Care in June 2015 and within three months was promoted to Area Supervisor, Jemma has been the Care Manager of South Somerset since February 2018.
Jemma has over twenty years experience of providing Care and Support. During this time she has worked in hospitals, community and nursing homes and with Social Services. She has led teams in each of these sectors.
Jemma is passionate that she and her team deliver high quality care where ever it is needed.
She is currently working towards her QCF Level 5 Qualification in Health and Social Care.
Jemma's obsession is perfume and during her spare time she can often be found in a perfume shop!
Jemma's remaining free time is spent driving her children around Somerset, reading, watching horror films or listening to music.
Live-in Service Manager
Alex originally joined Bluebird Care May 2017 as a Care Assistant, within 9 months promoted to Area supervisor and again 10 months later promoted to Live-In Service Manager.
Alex joined The Royal Navy when she left school, which was a proud moment for her family and self. Alex has worked within the health carer sector for more than 17 years, working for the RNIB, Swan Advocacy and a number of care homes. She has completed her NVQ level 3 in health and social care.
In Alex’s spare time she enjoys a good box set, ice cream when not being mum’s taxi too her two teenage children!
Live-in Service Manager
Danielle has over a decade experience working in health and social care, with roles varying from HCA to Senior Carer. She joined Bluebird Care in July 2020 as Live – in Service Manager because she feels very passionately about providing excellent care for people who wish to stay in their own homes.
Danielle has two young children that keep her busy during her free time, but she does also like to bake or read when she gets the chance. In the evenings she can quite often be found watching a crime drama on the TV with a glass of wine to relax.
Danielle joined Bluebird Care in February 2018 as a care co-ordinator for Wincanton and Sherborne.
Danielle has previous experience working within the care sector, working as both a carer and an admin assisitant in a local care home.
Danielle attended Canterbury Christchurch University to study a degree in Policing before moving on to work in the Care industry.
In her spare time Danielle enjoys going for a run and keeping fit in the evenings.
Yeovil area Supervisor
Debbie joined Bluebird Care in October 2017 as a Community Suervisor; She says it is the best move she ever made, she loves working for Bluebird Care.
Prior to joining Bluebird Care, Debbie was Deputy Manager of a 16 bedroom Residential Dementia Care Home.
Debbie served in the RAF for many years after leaving school, and has travelled and lived in some very different places, all around Europe. Debbie was part of Dorset Storm in 1990/91.
Debbies likes to relax in her spare time walking her lovely dog around the very muddy moor at the back of Somerton, and in the evening, likes to relax with a bottle of chilled Prosecco.
