Help with Care Costs

Did you know you may be able to help with care costs?

Help with care costs:

Financial support is available to help elderly people who need home care.  Known as Attendance Allowance, it is not means tested.  This means it is available no matter how much money you have in savings, whether you own your own home, and however you pay for your care.

Attendance Allowance is tax-free, and it won’t reduce any other income you receive.

You can claim Attendance Allowance if you are over state pension age, could benefit from personal care or supervision to keep you safe, have any illness or disability, and have needed help for the last 6 months.

In practice, many of our customers meet these criteria and can get help towards their weekly domiciliary care bills.

The financial benefit of Attendance Allowance makes high quality care at home available to a great many more people, who may otherwise have felt that their care options were limited.

For more information about Attendance Allowance, including how to claim, you can visit the following useful links from Age UK, Carers UK and GOV.UK.
