Care Home Staff can get FREE Flu Jabs

Flu can be a serious illness, particularly for the elderly or those with other health conditions, which is why Skills for Care is supporting NHS England’s campaign to keep homes and communities flu free this winter. Every year some care home residents are admitted to hospital or die from flu complications, and care homes can be closed to new admissions due to flu outbreaks, causing greater hospital delays. In order to limit the spread of flu in care homes and in the community this season, all care home staff (including catering and cleaning staff) and residents, domiciliary care workers and hospice workers in London are now entitled to a free flu jab at their local pharmacy.
