Summer of fun!

We've had an exciting summer of social activities for our customers this year. Activities ranged from card making, a day at the races and a boat trip across the Solent.

The Bluebird Care Fareham Social Activities club has been busy hosting a range of activities over the summer period. Activities were all free for customers, and the team even arranged transport for anyone that required it. This year activities included hosting an Animal Encounters afternoon, with customers coming up close with a Royal Python snake, a bearded dragon, a giant African millipede, and many more wonderful creatures! 

There was also an extremely enjoyable afternoon of sailing on the Solent, courtesy of local company Wet Wheels Hamble. A few of the customers even put on the Captain's hat and had a go at taking over the helm! The team also hosted a Day at the Races which involved some healthy competition between the customers. Horses were chosen and the racing was fierce! 

The social activities club offers customers the opportunity to leave their normal home environments for a few hours, and spend time having fun and socialising with others in a safe environment. Such opportunities are vital for those who find it difficult to regularly get out and about. It can be a crucial mood-boosting few hours for customers, and also great fun for staff too!
