Bluebird Care Ealing is supporting Carers Rights Day 2020, organised by Carers UK on Thursday 26th November.

Each year, Carers Rights Day takes place to encourage carers in local communities to be aware of their rights and how to get the help and support they need.

This year’s theme of ‘Know Your Rights’, encourages carers to know their rights whether they are working in a professional health care setting or looking after a relative. The day also aims to enable carers to feel confident enough to challenge situations and issues when their rights are not being met.

According to Carers UK, 6.5 million people across the UK are carers, and with loved ones now living longer it is estimated that 6,000 individuals are becoming carers every day. Caring for someone is not easy and can affect your financial situation, relationships and health.

Carers UK has over 250 volunteers working hard across the UK to connect carers with their local communities through support groups. The charity is there to support individuals by listening, offering expert advice and informing you of your rights and entitlements as a carer.

Commenting, Dean Morley, Care Manager at Bluebird Care Ealing, said;

“It is important to us at Bluebird Care to support local carers in our area - so we are helping to raise awareness of carers’ rights with this campaign! It’s essential that all of our carers are aware of their rights and entitlements, which if they are new to caring they may not know about.”
