We are delighted to announce that our recent coffee morning held in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society was a great success!

We are delighted to announce that our recent coffee morning held in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society was a great success!

The Alzheimer’s Society are the UK's leading dementia support and research charity for people living with dementia, their families and carers. They provide information and support, fund research and campaign to raise awareness about the disease.
There are currently 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2021.

We would like to thank everyone that joined us for our coffee mornning, and for helping to raise a staggering £213.10 for the Alzheimer’s Society! The morning was filled with cups of tea and sweet treats, also we had a variety of stands helping to provide information about dementia and raise awareness of the disease.

One stand was held by Jacqui Harris who specialises in encouraging art that is accessible to all.  She helps people to utilise art as a tool to encourage peace and relaxation.  She has undertaken Art Therapy Foundation courses to learn the principles and practice of art as therapy.

Another was the Purple Angel’s stand.  Purple Angel are a charitable organisation that uphold the principle that people with dementia have an absolute right to enjoy a good quality of life and continued involvement in the local communities.

Thank you again to everyone involved and for helping raise funds for this great cause.
