If you, or a loved one, need help around the house at various times of day or night to assist or carry out varying personal and domestic tasks, a Live-in Care Worker could provide the flexibility you need.
It is not always necessary to have to leave the home you love. With a Live-in Care Worker you can stay at home, with familiar friends, relatives and possessions around you.

What is involved?

The daily tasks of everyday living can be fulfilled by the Live-in Care Worker but he/she can also help with pastimes and activities if required.
Care Workers are trained to be active when required but unobtrusive and retiring when their presence is not needed. You can relax and enjoy the comforts of your own home, knowing that your personal space is respected.

How do I arrange a live-in care service?

The first step is to contact a professional care at home provider, to arrange an initial visit with a supervisor.
This gives you the opportunity to talk face-to-face, ask any questions and to get some advice for financial support options. It also enables the supervisor to carry out the necessary safety assessments and to note all the details needed to go through before the care starts.

What happens at the start?

On the first day the Live-in Care Worker will arrive at an agreed time, accompanied by the Supervisor. The role of the Supervisor is to introduce the Live-in Care Worker to you, and confirm the way you wish your care to be administered.
After a short settling-in period the Supervisor will leave you and your Care Worker to get to know one another. The Supervisor will keep in contact with you on a regular basis to make sure that everything continues to run smoothly.

What safeguards do I have?

Your Live-in Care Provider should be regulated with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who set the minimum standards by which care providers operate. At Bluebird Care we seek to exceed these minimum standards by a significant margin.
You should also look for full membership of the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) and Public Liability insurance.
