Luca's Caregiving Adventure with Bluebird Care!

Luca's story is one of compassion and genuine contribution. Coming from a competitive corporate background, he transitioned to a fulfilling profession with us, inspired by the prospect of making a real positive change. Reflecting on his decision, Luca shared, “Bluebird Care look after people like my grandmother, and it just brought a sense of calmness. I absolutely love what I do, and the impact I make is extremely rewarding.”

What made us stand out for Luca is our family-like atmosphere and unmatched flexibility. “At some agencies, you’re just a number on the rota, but with Bluebird Care, I feel noticed and part of an actual family,” he emphasised. This supportive environment aligns seamlessly with Luca's values, especially as a devoted father to a lovely daughter.

Having spent four enriching months with us, Luca highlighted our support system that goes beyond professional assistance. A dedicated WhatsApp group connects him with colleagues and senior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Luca also cherishes the close-knit community within Bluebird Care, attending baby dates with colleagues and sharing experiences.

As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Luca expressed his positive experience of inclusivity at Bluebird Care. “Starting here, I felt indifferent. No one questioned or remarked on it. I felt super welcomed, and they acknowledged my family just like anyone else, which made me feel lovely.”

Outside of work, Luca and his husband have built a robust support network, emphasising the importance of surrounding yourself with positivity. Despite facing adversity, his resilience and positive outlook prevail. Reflecting on their surrogacy journey, he advised, “Join plenty of groups, surround yourself with positive people, meet other gay parents. There are many groups on Facebook which you can join and talk to their communities; they allow you to learn about other people's journeys.”
