We conducted an employee questionnaire to find out information on what it is truly like to work as a care assistant. We spoke to Leanne, a lovely care assistant from the Bluebird Care (Hillingdon) facility. The findings were very positive overall.
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon): What made you want to work in the care industry?
Leanne: “I have always loved helping others so what better industry to work for than the care industry. Another reason was choosing a career that involves making people happy.”
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon): What made you decide to apply for a role with Bluebird Care?
Leanne: “After doing research, Bluebird Care came across as a very good company to work for. They seemed very reputable, and I also heard about them from word-of-mouth.”
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon): Did you have any prior experience in the industry? What training have you received?
Leanne: “I had previously worked for a care company in addition to having my own personal experience. Even though at the time, this was not overly necessary.
During my time with Bluebird Care, I have received the full-training program in addition to Specialist training.”
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon): What is the day-to-day life like as a care assistant at Bluebird Care?
Leanne: “Fantastic... that’s the only word I can describe it by! Even though sometimes my days can get extremely busy, I enjoy every moment of it.”
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon): What is one thing you love about your job?
Leanne: “The one thing that I truly love is seeing the smile on the customer’s face after you have finished the job. They can be extremely grateful towards me and it is so nice to know different people.
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon): What has been your favourite moment in care so far?
Leanne: “Every moment is so special. There have been so many great moments since I have been employed by Bluebird Care, and I am sure there are many more great moments to come.”
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon): What advice would you give to someone who is looking for a career in care?
Leanne: “Look past the ‘nitty gritty’, go for it and never look back.”
