As we continue our focus on excellence in training, we are delighted to follow Sam's story as she recently joined the team and begins her career with us. Sam joined the Bluebird Care Rother & Hastings team following a recommendation from a friend and has just embarked on her first month.

Having worked in care for over 30 years, she brings a wealth of experience to the role that will have a big benefit to our customers.
Throughout her career, Sam has worked in the roles of private Care Assistant, Assistant Manager in a Learning Disability environment and a senior Care Assistant in a residential home.
Of her decision to start her career in care three decades ago, Sam explained:
I am a qualified hairdresser and had a lot of older people as my customers. I really enjoyed it when I cut their hair because of the conversation really.
I found that I had a real soft spot for older people so thought that I would make a career out of it and what a lovely career I have had so far!
For me, caring comes from the heart and I know that I am making a difference. After a friend recommended that I apply to join the Bluebird Care team and I had spoken with the Registered Manager, Karen, I really got a good feeling.
From my initial conversation, I felt that Bluebird Care was a company that genuinely cares and am delighted to now have embarked on my role!

Sam is a great asset to our team. She is not only passionate and has a lot of experience, but she is also great with our customers.
Sam has completed her training, met her customers and now started work on her own. She has loved every minute of it so far and I look forward to supporting her throughout her career with us.
