We have an absolutely fantastic team of Care Assistants here at Bluebird Care. Our staff are of all ages and we recently caught up with Sylvia, who is one of our oldest members of staff. Sylvia is often the only person our customers may see during the day and her customers often become like members of her extended family.

I’m one of the oldest Care Assistants here at Bluebird Care Hounslow & Chiswick!
Previously I worked with one company for over 40 years and when I left, I needed something to do. I applied for a Care Assistant job and got the position within two hours of applying!
It is the best job I’ve ever done! It’s really varied and so rewarding.
Some days you can be doing personal care or shopping or companionship or domestic duties or sometimes, sleeping nights. The job varies and has the hours that really suit me.
All of my customers love seeing me. For some, I might be the only person they see that day and my motto is to treat your customers as if they are a member of your own family.
It is nice that the customers can stay in their own home being looked after. As well as this however, we occasionally visit customers in a care home to take them on trips out.
I wish I had done this job years ago, it’s so rewarding. It’s a demanding job, but I go home every evening and know I’ve made a difference and made my customers happy.
