Bluebird Care is supporting the Care Workers’ Charity Covid-19 Fund

Bluebird Care is supporting the Care Workers’ Charity Covid-19 Emergency Fund to help provide financial support to those working in care who need it.

There are almost 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces, and at the moment they are on the front-line supporting customers through one of the biggest crises our generation will see in its lifetime. These amazing individuals are caring for the most vulnerable people in our society who are most susceptible to the disease. However, if a care assistant needs to self-isolate, they will could fall into financial difficulties.

The Care Workers’ Charity was set up to ensure that no care worker will face financial hardship alone, and in 2019 their Grants Programme was able to provide 532 lifelines worth just over £181,000 to those who needed it most.

Now, more than ever, they require support to help those who need help during the Coronavirus pandemic. As a country, we rely on care workers to be there for us when we need it. Now we need to be there for them.

If you would like to fundraise for the Care Workers Charity, there are some great ideas here. Here are some activities that could be adapted given the current lockdown restrictions:

  • Host a virtual quiz night
  • Host an online gaming challenge
  • Host an online raffle
  • Hold a virtual talent show/karaoke night
  • Host an online bingo night
  • Take on a sponsored challenge that you can do at home

You can donate via their JustGiving page here.
