CAHSC hosted their second 'Care and Support Awards' on 9th March at the Eden Project and it was a night to remember!

Following the roaring success of the Care and Support Awards 2016 CAHSC organised a second event in March 2018, encouraging organisations across Cornwall to vote for a variety of categories.

At Bluebird Care Mid and West Cornwall we celebrated our colleagues and customers by voting in our droves with several team members receiving nominations. Some of our wonderful colleagues even made it through to the shortlist for the actual ceremony including Zoe Naivalumaira and Carol Taylor who were shortlisted for the 'Outstanding Home Care Worker Award'. Our franchise was also nominated for and won the 'Oustanding Workforce Development Employer Award', which is an amazing achievement for the whole staff team! Bluebird Care Mid and West Cornwall also sponsored the 'Volunteer of the Year Award'.

The glamourous night, hosted by BBC Spotlight's Justin Leigh was hosted at the Eden Project, one of our local area's most iconic attractions and no expense was spared for our oustanding nominees with a champagne reception, a three course meal and of course entertainment and a disco to celebrate the awards afterwards. Our very own Operations Manager Caroline Sommerville also delivered a speech about the 'Proud to Care' initiative amongst several local care providers.

Overall it was a glamorous night with much to celebrate- the award winners, our beautiful working environment and the industry in which we all are so passionate about- Care.
