At Bluebird Care we like to support as many charitable events as possible, so we thought that this year we would choose a specific organisation to support as our "Charity of the Year"... so congratulations to Children's Hospice South West - you are the chosen one!

We will link with the chosen charity and raise as much money as possible throughout the year by getting involved in as many events and fundraising initiatives as we can.

Our Care Manager recently wrote to Children's Hospice South West to inform them of the good news, and has reported that the charity are absolutely thrilled! We are working our way through a list of fundraising ideas, but welcome any suggestions on how we can aid in funding this fantastic cause.

A little about Children's Hospice South West...
"At Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) we are absolutely committed to making the most of short and precious lives. The care offered at each of our hospices is not simply about medical and nursing care for sick children, but about enriching the lives of children and their families.

"Families talk about the 'treasure chest' of precious memories they build to carry into the future... a future which will, sadly, be without their much loved child or children.

"Our Precious Lives Appeal to build our third hospice, in Cornwall, Little Harbour was launched in September 2007. The appeal ended in September 2011 as the £5million target was reached. Little Harbour welcomed our first families through the doors in December 2011.

"This will, by common consent, complete a chain of children’s hospices covering Cornwall, Plymouth, Torbay, Devon, Somerset, North Somerset, Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire."
