We keep you safe during the COVID-19 Pandemic - 3 min read

What is Personal Protective Equipment?

Personal Protecitve Equipment (also known as 'PPE') is equipment that will protect the user against health or safety risks at work. As standard we provide all our care assistants with their own supply of gloves, aprons and hand gel. They are fully trained and supported to make the best use of them, whilst caring for you.

Why is it so important?

Bluebird care Market Harborough is strictly following infection, prevention and control government guidance, as this is paramount of importance in ensuring the safety of our customers in particular the elderly and anyone with underlying health condition. Equally important is the safety of our and carers. The PPE that they use also gives them peace of mind whilst delivering care in the community.

How do we stay up to date with current guidelines?

As part of a larger Bluebird Care franchise network (200 offices in the country), we benefit from shared expertise and best practise from industry leading care professionals. Our association with the Care Quality Commission, Social Care Institute for Excellence and the United Kingdom Home Care Association, means that we remain at the forefront of any changes within government guidance. We are committed to ensuring you remain safe at home.

We are closely following government guidance on the most appropriate PPE during the COVID-19 outbreak and sharing this with our care assistants.

Customer Testimonial - AJ, Fleckney

"I am very reassured by Bluebird Care Market Harborough and Oadby's safety practices. The carers wear the PPE such as face masks and shields as needed. From the start of the Covid-19 pandemic myself and my family have felt safe with our carers who visit 4 times daily. The care support that I receive is also excellant".

Carer Testimonial - DT

"Bluebird Care Market Harborough and Oadby has been brilliant at supplying us with PPE. We have always had what we needed such as face masks. We began wearing these in February 2020, before the lockdown. Knowing that my managers are always thinking ahead for our safety and for customers gives me peace of mind'.
