Combining care with technology
Technology is a wonderful thing! At Bluebird Care our staff now follow digital Care plans on their mobile devices using electronic care management software – a far more efficient, secure and reliable system than the paper ones it replaced.
This software allows Care Assistants to update care notes and medication records instantly, and facilitates real-time transfer of this information back to staff in the office. Changes to care plans, following a review meeting with a customer, can be similarly recorded by Supervisors and made "live" at the push of a button.
Because of the investment we have made in this technology, we are better positioned to make informed decisions, take quicker action where required, and are able to offer a safer, more responsive, more consistent service as a result.
Monitoring Your Care
Via the openPASS app we allow approved relatives, advocates or neighbours remote access to care plans, care notes, weekly rosters and staff attendance times.
openPASS is available for free download from the Apple and Google Play stores and is accessible via mobile, tablet and online at www.openpass.com.
Openness and transparency are important ideals to us. The introduction of openPASS to our service brings peace of mind to families who can rest assured knowing that their loved one is being well-cared for, a benefit especially valued by those who do not live locally and are unable to pop round to check in on them in person.
In the future, it is hoped that openPASS will be able to extend the secure connection of relevant information to other healthcare professionals involved in our customers’ care, such as their GP and local District Nurse teams.

Open pass has been extremely helpful in being able to have daily updates especially during Covid 19. It also enabled me to reinforce time of visits and names of carers to mum. Standard of recording was very good and observations about change of mood very helpful.
